“PANGAKO SA’YO” DEBUTS AS THE MOST-WATCHED TV PROGRAM

   ABS-CBN’s highly anticipated primetime drama series “Pangako Sa’yo” made a grand comeback on television as the remake of the classic Filipino love story topbilled by Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo debuted as the most-watched TV program in the country.

According to data from Kantar Media last Monday (May 25), the pilot episode of “Pangako Sa’yo” topped the list of most-watched TV programs in Philippines with a national TV rating of 34%. It is more than double than its rival program in GMA “Let the Love Begin” (15%).

Meanwhile, even before “Pangako Sa’yo” aired its pilot episode, the show’s official hashtag #PSYAngUnangPagIbig already became a worldwide and nationwide trending topic on the microblogging site Twitter because of the fans’ excitement for the new primetime offering. Positive tweets flooded social networking sites as netizens praised the effective performances of Jodi Sta. Maria, Ian Veneracion, and Angelica Panganiban as Amor, Eduardo, and Claudia, respectively.

Helmed by three of the best directors in the country Rory Quintos, Dado Lumibao, and Olivia Lamasan, “Pangako Sa’yo” revolves around the promise of true and never-ending love from two generations—the love story of Amor and Eduardo, who were separated by Claudia, and the couple brought together by destiny, Yna (Kathryn) and Angelo (Daniel).

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 beats rivals on its pilot!

     ABS-CBN’s hit talent-reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” returned on television recently for its biggest season to date and zoomed again to the top of the ratings chart as the most-watched weekend program nationwide. According to combined urban and rural ratings data from Kantar Media, PGT 4 landed on the top spot of the most-watched programs nationwide last Sunday (Feb 17) hitting a national TV rating of 25.8% vs GMA’s “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” with 21.9% and "Imbestigador" with 12.3%.

Its pilot telecast also dominated rival programs as it scored a whopping national TV rating of 29.6% vs GMA’s “Watta Job” with 9.7% and TV5’s “Kanta Pilipinas” with a mere 3.5%. PGT 4 also made a buzz online and its official hashtag #PGT4 was the top two trending topic worldwide in social networking site Twitter. Kahit Konting Pagtingin hits 25.5% rating on its debut; beats GMA Network's Forever

      ABS-CBN’s newest Primetime Bida kilig-serye “Kahit Konting Pagtingin” quickly made a mark in the hearts of TV viewers as its pilot episode wins the ratings game last Monday (January 28). From the data of Kantar Media last Monday, the kilig-serye topbilled by Angeline Quinto, Paulo Avelino, and Sam Milby garnered 25.5% national TV ratings, compared to its rival program in GMA “Forever” which only got 12%. Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw beats Temptation of Wife on its Pilot

          Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw is a drama series of ABS-CBN starring Anne Curtis, Kris Aquino, and Robin Padilla. The show started on January 21, 2013. Based on survey conducted by Kantar Media Philippines, the drama series posted a 23.6% TV rating nationwide. Rival Temptation of Wife rated 17.5% only the same day.

Forever, outshined by Aryana!

      The newest fantasy drama series of GMA Network, Forever, debut last January 21, 2013 under GMA Telebabad block. The series is topbilled by Heart Evangelista, Geoff Eigenmann and Gloria Romero.

According to the nationwide survey of Kantar Media Philippines, Forever posted a low 12.3% rating compare to its rival's 28.8% (Aryana). Let's see if the show's ratings will progress the coming days.

May Isang Pangarap beats Yesterday's Bride on its Pilot

          May Isang Pangarap is the newest drama series of ABS-CBN under Kapamilya Gold block. It stars Carmina Villaroel, Vina Morales, and 2 new child stars, Larah Claire Sabroso and Julia Klarisse Base.

It was aired last January 21, 2013 and it posted a high 13.7% national rating, enough to beat GMA's Yesterday's Bride.

Ina Kapatid Anak hits 36.3% rating; Indio debut smoothly

     ABS-CBN’s top caliber family drama series “Ina Kapatid Anak” successfully opened its book 2 on Monday (January 14) after its much-awaited grand reveal episode tagged as ‘Gabi ng Katotohanan’ hit the show’s all-time high national TV ratings and conquered the top-trending topics on Twitter Philippines and worldwide.

Based on the data from Kantar Media, the beginning of book 2 that exposed the truth about the real identity of Kim Chiu’s character Celyn garnered a national TV rating of 36.3%, or almost 14 points higher than the pilot episode of its newest rival program in GMA “Indio,” which only got 22.7%. Also, the ratings earned by “Ina Kapatid Anak” was almost double of another GMA primetime teleserye “Temptation of Wife” that only obtained 19% national TV ratings.

Aside from ruling the ratings game as the no.1 primetime TV series nationwide, “Ina Kapatid Anak” also dominated the popular microblogging site Twitter with the episode’s non-stop revelations and confrontations, especially among the characters of its lead stars Kim, Maja Salvador, Janice de Belen, Ariel Rivera and Cherry Pie Picache. With the netizens’ overflowing emotions, the title of the teleserye became a national trending topic, while ‘Cherry Pie’ made it on the top trending topics worldwide, with the seasoned actress’ outstanding dramatic performance as Teresa, the mother of Celyn.

Minute to Win It Philippines scores big win in national TV ratings!

     The pilot episode of ABS-CBN’s newest game show “Minute to Win It” reigned on its timeslot in nationwide TV ratings and entered the top 20 most watched programs last Monday (Jan 14). Based on data from Kantar Media, it registered a national TV rating of 21% vs “Knock Out” (9%) and “Chef Boy Logro: Kusina Master” (6.4%) of GMA, and even captured the 7th slot in the top 20 programs across urban and rural homes.

Kidlat fails to save primetime of TV5; Jeepney Jackpot debut so low

     Kidlat is TV5's 1st primetime offering of 2013. It stars Derek Ramsay. The pilot episode of Kidlat is aired on January 7, 2013. It posted a low 7.4% rating nationwide based on Kantar Media Philippines.

Let's see in the coming days if Kidlat will soar high in the ratings game. The fantasy series is shown Mondays-Fridays on TV5 at 6:45pm and replays on weekend.

On the other hand, Jeepney Jackpot: Pera o Para! debut the same day at 5 oclock in the afternoon. It is a gameshow hosted by Mr. Fu, Valeen Montenegro, and Saida Diola. The show posted a 4.3% rating, outshined by Asianovelas of ABS-CBN and GMA.

Rooftop Prince scores big on its debut

     Rooftop Prince is a South Korean fantasy romantic comedy television drama, starring Park Yuchun, Han Ji-min, Jeong Yu-mi, Lee Tae-sung, Lee Min-ho, Jung Suk-won and Choi Woo-shik.

It was aired in the Philippines on January 7, 2013 via ABS-CBN. It posted a 14.4% rating nationwide beating rival Smile Dong Hae, which only got 12.1%.

Teen Gen fails to beat LUV U

       Teen Gen is a youth-oriented drama series produced by GMA Network and aired every Sundays after Party Pilipinas. The show debut last December 16, 2012 and posted a low 7% rating. ABS-CBN's LUV U rated 10.2%, and TV5's Sunday Sineplex took 7.1% rating.

Pinoy True Stories debut smoothly

     ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs launches an all-new weekday current affairs program in a revolutionary move to make public service more accessible to Filipino audiences.

Weekdays at 4:45 PM, ABS-CBN’s broadcast journalists will tackle real-life accounts of Filipinos and help in solving problems that affect their communities and families in Pinoy True Stories.

The pilot episode of Pinoy True Stories posted an 11.9% rating nationwide beating its rival from GMA (Smile Dong Hae 10%) and TV5 (T3 Reload 5.8%).

Bistado:
Julius Babao opens the week in the action-packed Bistado to uncover cases of abuse, neglect or cruelty, as well as corrupt practices in the government and the various modus operandi of criminals.

Engkwentro:

     Base sa datos mula sa Kantar Media, lumamang ng halos 16 na puntos noong Lunes (Nobyembre 26) ang teleseryeng pinagbibidahan nina Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee at Maja Salvador na nakakuha ng 32.9% national TV ratings, kumpara sa pilot episode ng bago nitong katapat na programa sa GMA na “Pahiram ng Sandali” na pinagbibidahan nina Dingdong Dantes, Max Collins, Lorna Tolentino, at Christopher de Leon na umabot lamang sa 17.5%.

       Magpakailanman is a drama anthology of GMA Network hosted by Mel Tiangco. The show made its comeback last November 17, 2012 and pitied against the longest running drama anthology, MMK. The pilot episode of Magpakailanman's comeback posted a 15.9% rating while rival took 30.6% rating.

MMK remained the undisputed drama anthology of Philippine TV.

Kapamilya Deal or No Deal laughs out Celebrity Bluff

Celebrity Bluff is hosted by Eugene Domingo, Wally and Jose.

The newest gameshow of GMA Network failed to beat Kapamilya Deal or No Deal. It debut last November 17, 2012 and posted a 13.4% rating. Its rival gameshow garnered 27.9% rating. Kapamilya Deal or No deal remained the most watched gameshow in Philippine TV.
