TV5's news and information head, Luchi Cruz-Valdes, bagged the prestigious Ka Doroy Broadcaster of the Year Award at the 23rd Golden Dove Awards of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP). A recipient of major local and international awards in her illustrious career as a broadcast journalist, Cruz-Valdes also took home the Best Newscaster award for TV5’s primetime newscast “Aksyon”.
On top of Cruz Valdes’ win as Ka Doroy Broadcaster of the Year (her second time to be conferred the honor, having also received it in the KBP Golden Dove Awards of 2001), TV5 also won these awards:
Best Newscast for its late evening newscast “Aksyon Tonite”
Best Documentary Program for “Yaman ng Bayan: Lupa”
Best Special Program for “Diskargado”
Best Actor for Comedy Program for Ogie Alcasid
Best Public Service Program Host for its resident legal analyst and radio host Atty. Mel Sta. Maria
